Justin Herbert fought through a high ankle sprain he suffered in Week Two against the Panthers so he could take the field this past Sunday in Pittsburgh in the hopes of giving the Chargers the best chance to beat the Steelers and reach their first 3-0 start since 2002.
It was gutsy and Herbert deserves massive respect for trying to make it happen, but ultimately he left the game just after halftime following a play where defensive tackle Cameron Hayward fell on the exact ankle he injured. Following the game, Herbert was seen with a walking boot.
