The Chargers used their 2024 fourth-round draft pick on defensive tackle Justin Eboigbe out of the University of Alabama. Other positions of need — and honestly more exciting players - were still on the board for the Bolts but Jim Harbaugh and the new coaching staff have a plethora of respect for the trench players so they just had to pull the trigger on an underrated player coming out of a blue blood program.
Entering training camp, the Chargers defensive line is far from being solidified in terms of who will start. While their base defense is a 3-4, they won’t “live” in that personnel grouping, meaning there’s likely two true starters and then a third “starter” who earns that tag in the base front.
