Jamaree Salyer has been a steady presence along the offensive line through his first two seasons with the Chargers as he’s played both left tackle and right guard for the team. After the addition of Joe Alt in the draft, Trey Pipkins has been moved to right guard which has relegated Salyer back to the bench as the team’s next man up. When it comes down to it, he may not be a starter at the moment, but he’s nonetheless important in the eyes of the coaching staff. That’s why this bit of news out of Tuesday’s training camp session isn’t fun to hear.
