Linebacker Korey Toomer has been with the Chargers the past two seasons.
Toomer, a former fifth-round pick who was signed off the Raiders’ practice squad early on in the 2016 season, filled in for Manti Te’o and Denzel Perryman when both were hurt. Toomer finished with 75 combined tackles, second-most on the team, along with three forced fumbles, two pass deflections, one sack and one fumble recovery in 13 games (eight starts).
He was a restricted free agent last offseason and received an original-round tender. It was a smart move to keep him around for at least another year.
