SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A San Diego Chargers intern injured in a hit-and-run last week in Pacific Beach remains hospitalized, as the NFL community offers support for his family.

So far, Chargers fans have donated more than $1,000 as the family works to make sure their insurance continues to provide coverage during Erby’s recovery, and Erby’s family is watching him closely as doctors start to bring him out of a medically induced coma.
The 23-year-old intern and his roommate were celebrating the roommate's birthday when they were both struck by a car in the 900 block of Garnet Avenue around 1:00 a.
