Per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Hunter Henry is signing his franchise tag today, officially keeping him in the powder blue and gold through the 2020 NFL season.
Henry, one of the brightest young stars at the tight end position, is coming off playing in 12 games in 2019 where he set career-highs in passes caught and receiving yards with 55 and 652, respectively. Henry missed four games after suffering a tibia plateau fracture during their week one match-up with the Indianapolis Colts.
Henry enters his fifth year in the NFL but missed the entire 2018 season with a torn ACL.
