With Melvin Gordon still sidelined by injury, the Chargers returned to practice Tuesday and prepared for the next game, Saturday in Cleveland, against the winless Browns.
Scatback Ronnie Hillman stands to play in Cleveland, whether Gordon returns or not.
Hillman, a former standout at San Diego State, made his Chargers debut last week and rushed for 34 yards (4.9 per carry) in the 19-16 loss to the Oakland Raiders.
He alternated with Gordon’s replacement, rookie Kenneth Farrow, who ran for 39 yards (2.6) but also had a fumble that Oakland recovered.
