He now will have a forum 20 times a year to talk about the team and the game he loves.
Hardwick has been elevated to color commentator on Chargers radio broadcasts, which can be heard in San Diego on 105.3-FM and 1360-AM, where he will join longtime play-by-play announcer Josh Lewin.
Hardwick was a sideline reporter on broadcasts last season, his first year after retirement.
