From Junior Seau's death, advances in brain science, attitudes

The fifth day of the fifth month was a day that Junior Seau embraced as his own holiday.

In a spirit of fun.

When Cinco De Mayo arrived --- as it will this Friday – Seau connected the date – 5-5 -- to the No. 55 he wore for his hometown San Diego Chargers.

“He used to celebrate Cinco De Mayo as his day and call it ‘Cinco Cinco,’ ” Dr.David Chao, a former Chargers team doctor and friend of Seau’s, said this week.

Speaking on Tuesday, five years to the day of Seau’s death, Chao said he prefers to recall “Cinco Cinco” or the date of Seau’s birthday – Jan.
