Jerry Sanders, the former mayor of San Diego and current CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, endorsed the San Diego Chargers plans to build a new NFL stadium and convention center expansion in downtown San Diego in this interview with Scott Kaplan and Billy Ray Smith of The Mighty 1090 AM radio.
"I've been behind contiguous space for the convention center for the whole time," Sanders said. "But over the past year or so, it's been apparent to me that that's not going to work."
My take: Fred Maas, advisor on the stadium issue for the Chargers, used to work for Sanders during his time as mayor.
