On Sunday night, Broncos linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite was booked into the Denver downtown jail on suspicion of second-degree assault of a police officer, per Mike Klis of Denver’s 9News. On Monday morning, he appeared in Denver County court.
The Broncos are “aware of the situation” involving Wilhoite and are “gathering more information.”
Wilhoite is in his second season with the Broncos after spending two seasons (2021-2022) with the Chargers as the linebackers coach under then-head coach Brandon Staley. The 38-year old got his coaching start with Sean Payton in New Orleans during the 2019 season as a special teams assistant.
