Through the first four weeks of the 2024 season, we have a pretty good idea of what this Chargers team is and/or wants to be. They’re going to run it, run it, and then run it some more. In between all of that, they’re going to harass opposing offenses into giving the ball away.
This type of play has likely been a bit jarring for the fan base. A year ago, this team lived or died by the pass and the defense was one of the worst in the NFL. Things have now flip-flopped pretty hard. Justin Herbert is averaging less than 150 passing yards per game and the offense can barely move the ball outside of one to two drives per game.
