SAN DIEGO -- In two seasons, the San Diego Chargers transitioned from having one of the most seasoned special-teams tandems in the NFL to a unit with more raw leg strength and potential, in the hopes of improving the overall production from this group.
The Chargers chose undrafted rookie Josh Lambo over veteran Nick Novak in a training camp battle last year. Lambo went on to have a solid rookie year, while Novak eventually landed with the Houston Texans, continuing his consistent ways in that city.
This year, the Chargers moved on from longtime punter Mike Scifres after 13 productive seasons in San Diego.
