Good morning.
Linda Halverstadt of Voice of San Diego reports that former San Diego mayor Bob Filner had agreed to a basic framework of a deal with the San Diego Chargers on an NFL stadium downtown before he was forced from office in August 2013.
Filner said the city’s portion of the project would have been funded by the sale of city-own properties in Mission Valley and the Sports Arena. The Chargers offered up a similar proposal three years ago, but it got no traction with the city.
Mark Fabiani, point person for the Chargers on the stadium issue, confirmed the report.
