Dwight Lowery helps Chargers prepare to face former team, the Colts

SAN DIEGO -- Solid and steady, Dwight Lowery provides a sturdy foundation for the San Diego Chargers as a free-agent addition to the team’s secondary.

Replacing the quarterback of San Diego’s defense for nearly a decade in Eric Weddle, Lowery is second on the team in tackles with 12 and has been assignment correct for the most part in not giving up big plays.

The Chargers also have three interceptions in two games, tied for No. 3 in the NFL.

Lowery’s play so far is the same type of performance Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano grew accustomed to seeing during Lowery's year with the Colts last season.
