Members of the San Diego Fleet lost their jobs when the Alliance of American Football folded in April, but some report the five-month stint still advanced their careers.
“I hate that it folded because it had good talent and was a good league,” former Fleet defensive line coach Vince Amey said Friday, “but I met great people and thought it was a good thing.”
Along with Amey of the Los Angeles Wildcats in the XFL, a startup that targets a February launch, several Fleet alums made career gains.
