Philip Rivers won’t want sad music played for him, just because the clock is ticking louder than ever on his impressive NFL career.
While it’s a shame for Rivers and his well-earned fans that Sunday brought him another defeat, capping his eighth season in the past 10 without a playoff berth, he’s had a lot of good times, too, while also managing to stay healthy for the most part.
Rivers, forever enthusiastic, didn’t cheat himself or the game this year, one can safely assume. And he has said going all out is what counts the most.
