It’s become a San Diego-Super Bowl tradition.
A running back who played at a San Diego High school comes up big in the Roman Numeral game.
Sunday night it was Damien Williams, leading the Kansas City Chiefs past the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV at Miami.
Williams scored the final two touchdowns, enabling the Chiefs to win their second Super Bowl and first in 50 years.
The 27-year-old running back, who 10 years ago wore the blue-and-gold of the Mira Mesa High Marauders, can share Super Bowl memories with Lincoln alums Marcus Allen and Terrell Davis, who won Super Bowl MVP awards with the 1983 Los Angles Raiders and 1997 Denver Broncos, respectively.
