The stigma of a bad NFL season calls into question a team’s entire football brain trust.
Anthony Lynn, it’s your turn in the barrel.
Lynn oversaw his first losing season this year, as his Chargers posted a 5-11 record on the heels of 9-7 and 12-4 seasons, respectively, that began the head coach’s tenure.
Lynn is thought safe within the franchise’s upper corridors of power. His bosses, Tom Telesco, John Spanos and Dean Spanos, the men who hired him in 2017, went through other losing seasons while in their current jobs.
It’s still a yellow flag that Lynn’s program went off the rails, and more so because it happened in his third year.
