San Diego voters nixed three candidates for City Attorney this week, advancing two others to a November runoff for the city's second-highest elected office.
The results appear unfriendly to the Chargers' convadium plan.
The candidate who got the fewest votes, Bryan Pease, was warmest to the plan in comments to the U-T’s editorial board last month.
The two winners Tuesday, Republican Robert Hickey (29.6 percent of votes) and Democrat Mara Elliott (24.4), both said they expect the Chargers’ plan will need two-thirds voter approval to pass legal muster.
A number of other attorneys, including Pease, took a different view of a judge's ruling three months ago.
