LA Chargers free agent signee cornerback Chris Harris, Jr has nine years of experience and four trips to the Pro Bowl, but just in case you had any doubt about him covering slot receivers after signing a two-year contract this offseason, think again. Harris made it clear this week as The Athletic’s Daniel Popper points out on Tuesday:
“That was the main thing they brought to me,” said Harris, referencing his conversations with Chargers GM Tom Telesco, head coach Anthony Lynn, and DBs coach Ron Milus prior to signing with LA. The Chargers ranked 21st on defense per DVOA last season, including 20th against the pass.
