SAN DIEGO -- Chris Hairston was considered a swing tackle that could start a game in a pinch and give the San Diego Chargers serviceable snaps for an injured starter.
Kenny Wiggins didn’t even make San Diego’s 53-man roster at the end of training camp. But both Hairston and Wiggins have earned starting roles and helped keep Philip Rivers upright this season.
“It’s just gotten to the point right now where I look at Chris and Kenny as starters,” Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich said.
