SAN DIEGO -- Philip Rivers gave current San Diego Chargers center Trevor Robinson perhaps the best compliment he could give to a player at that position.
Rivers said in terms of the way he sees the game, Robinson is the closest to the type of game-day relationship Rivers had with longtime center Nick Hardwick, who retired from football last season after suffering a neck injury.
Like Hardwick, Rivers said he and Robinson communicate and watch film throughout the week in putting together the best game plan to attack the opponent.
“He probably thinks the most like Nick that we’ve had,” Rivers said.
