SAN DIEGO -- They are who we thought they were.
By not bringing back veteran edge rushers Dwight Freeney and Jarret Johnson, the San Diego Chargers took a chance on youngsters Melvin Ingram and Jerry Attaochu developing into consistent pass-rushers.
With one game left in the 2015 season, the organization's patience appears to have paid off.
After a slow start, Ingram has 9.5 sacks on the year -- including eight in San Diego's last eight games. Ingram has a chance to reach double-digits sacks, becoming the first San Diego player to accomplish that since Antwan Barnes finished with 11 sacks in 2011.
