In the sixth round, the Chargers selected linebacker Emeke Egbule out of Houston. Egbule is an active linebacker who will play on the edge as a backup to Melvin Ingram and Uchenna Nwosu. Basically, he will be replacing the role that Kyle Emanuel, who has since retired, filled.
He will be a guy who can come in as part of some sub packages and do everything from rush the passer to drop back into throwing lanes in the passing game. He is a little inconsistent but can add a spark in small spurts. Overall, he may be a better selection that Drue Tranquill, who the team took in the fourth round.
