The San Diego Chargers have agreed to a deal with former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Griff Whalen. The team also announced that running back Danny Woodhead will be heading to the injured reserve.
With Woodhead’s roster spot open, the Chargers felt that the team needed some depth at receiver as two of Rivers’ favorite targets are done for the year.
This is an odd move for San Diego who is now extremely thin at running back. Woodhead and Branden Oliver will not play in 2016. That leaves Kenneth Farrow and Andre Williams to play behind Melvin Gordon.
