Chargers sign Michael Ola, adding offensive line depth

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- In need of offensive line depth, the Los Angeles Chargers signed Michael Ola, the team announced Tuesday.

To make room for Ola on the active roster, the Chargers placed veteran offensive lineman Matt Slauson on injured reserve with a torn biceps, ending his 2017 season.

At 6-foot-5 and 312 pounds, Ola can play both guard and tackle. He was in training camp with the Buffalo Bills this year but suffered an ankle injury in the final preseason game and was waived/injured.

A Hampton University product, Ola has played in 29 games with 13 starts over four NFL seasons.
