The Chargers aren’t done tinkering with their roster ahead of this weekend’s preseason finale against the Seahawks.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Chargers announced the signing of former Jaguars and Seahawks linebacker Nate Evans. In a corresponding move, the team waived defensive lineman Frederick Smith Jr.
Evans, a 6’1 241-pound defender out of Central Florida, went undrafted in 2020 before catching on the Jacksonville.
While at UCF, Evans collected 247 tackles over his four-year career, including a team-high 112 as a senior. He also managed four sacks, 23 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries with one forced fumble.
