Chargers showing early defensive superiority over Rams in joint practice

The Chargers welcomed the Rams to El Segundo for the first joint practice of training camp. All-Everything defensive lineman Aaron Donald is now retired but the Rams still host a plethora of talented players on their roster, including receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, running back Kyren Williams, and of course quarterback Matthew Stafford.

However, even with that talent, the Chargers defense opened the session’s first 11-on-11 period with a dominant performance that included a trio of interceptions by three different Bolts.

First, UDFA rookie safety Thomas Harper broke up a pass that got deflected into the air before landing in the arms of linebacker Nick Niemann.
