The Chargers are set to sign wide receiver Geremy Davis off the New York Giants practice squad.
The transaction is expected to be announced Wednesday.
Davis will take the roster spot of cornerback Steve Williams, who was released Tuesday. Williams was in his fourth season with the Chargers, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2013 out of Cal.
Davis, 24, was in his second season with the Giants, who drafted him in the sixth round last year out of Connecticut. The 6-2, 217-pounder played in the season’s first 10 games as a rookie, making two catches for 21 yards.
