With the 194th-overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Chargers select running back Larry Rountree out of Missouri.
After Anthony Lynn drafted Joshua Kelley in the fourth round of last year’s draft, Brandon spends a late-round pick in his first draft as the head coach on a rusher of his choice.
Rountree was voted to the SEC All-Freshman squad as an all-purpose threat after rushing for 703 yards and six scores and recording 538 kick return yards on 25 attempts. He would go on to become the starter for his final three seasons where combined to rush for just over 3,000 yards and 34 touchdowns.
