SAN DIEGO -- With the vote to fund a $1.8 billion downtown stadium and convention center annex just four days away, San Diego Chargers chairman Dean Spanos and Mayor Kevin Faulconer appeared at a rally at a bar downtown to raise awareness for the initiative.
Called Measure C, the citizens’ initiative sponsored by the Chargers and endorsed by Faulconer needs two-thirds approval to pass at the ballot box next week.
According to the latest poll, the Chargers’ initiative likely will receive around 45 percent support.
However, Spanos said he didn’t put much merit in poll results and remains confident that his plan will receive the support it needs locally.
