SAN DIEGO -- As expected, the San Diego Chargers ruled running back Melvin Gordon out for Sunday’s game at Qualcomm Stadium against the Oakland Raiders due to a strained hip and sprained knee.
Gordon did not practice all week and hopes to return next week on the road against the Cleveland Browns.
Undrafted rookie Kenneth Farrow is expected to start in place of Gordon.
Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said his offense had all week to figure out a game plan for moving the ball without Gordon and should have a plan in place Sunday.
