On Monday morning, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Chargers are releasing quarterback Max Duggan. Duggan was a seventh-round pick of the Chargers in 2023 and spent the entirety of his rookie season on the practice squad until he was bumped up as the backup following Justin Herbert’s injury.
With Justin Herbert (foot) still rehabbing, the #Chargers now have two healthy QBs on the roster: Easton Stick and Luis Perez. Duggan, the former Heisman finalist at TCU, will go on waivers. https://t.co/eR8SfJlYm6

The move should not come as that much of a surprise following Saturday’s loss to the Rams where Duggan received zero snaps behind both Easton Stick and Luis Perez.
