Chargers Re-Sign Backup QB Kellen Clemens

Michael Gehlken reports that the Chargers are re-signing backup QB Kellen Clemens to another one-year contract.

Clemens, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2006. He spent five years in New York before signing on with the Rams as a free agent in 2011. After four years in St. Louis, Clemens joined the Chargers on a two-year deal.

Clemens returned to the Chargers last year on a one-year contract.

In 2016, Clemens appeared in 12 games in relief of Phillip Rivers.
