The first edition of Chargers-Raiders was everything you could have expected.
Both teams played tough, hard-nosed football. The fire and energy was palpable all game long. It truly felt like an old-school throwback game between these two franchises as scrums were plenty and even a near-brawl broke out near the end of the fourth quarter after the Chargers went up 22-10 with less than three minutes left in regulation.
Justin Herbert did not have to single-handedly lead his team to victory by playing lights out this time around. He ended the day with 144 passing yards and a single score.
