SAN DIEGO -- With only three healthy receivers available, the San Diego Chargers signed undrafted rookie Tyrell Williams from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced on Saturday.
At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, the Western Oregon product made San Diego’s opening week roster, but was waived in Week 2 and brought back on the practice squad, where he remained until Saturday.
During exhibition play, Williams led the Chargers with 137 receiving yards, including a 63-yard touchdown catch in the final preseason game on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
