The Chargers moved to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in the AFC West with a 23-16 win over the Broncos on Sunday. The defense remains elite and the offense looked good in the first half when they built a 20-0 lead behind a season-high passing total from Justin Herbert. J.K. Dobbins also nearly eclipsed 100 rushing yards for the third time this year and also scored his third touchdown.
Khalil Mack and Elijah Molden both recorded takeaways and limited the Broncos to very little offensive output until garbage time in the fourth quarter.
It wasn’t a complete game by the Chargers, but it was a reassuring win over one of the best defenses in the NFL through the first five weeks.
