Ian Rapoport reports that the Chargers are re-signing QB Kellen Clemens and placing LB Denzel Perryman on injured reserve Monday.
Los Angeles is still expected to bring Perryman back later on in the season once he’s fully healed from ankle surgery.
Perryman, 23 is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $4.776 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2016, Perryman appeared in 12 games and recorded 72 tackles, two sacks, an interception and two pass defenses.
