The Chargers ever expanding injury list claimed two more unfortunate souls as the team placed defensive lineman Corey Liuget and cornerback Brandon Flowers on injured reserve.
Liuget (foot) finishes the season with 31 tackles and three sacks after signing a contract extension worth $30 million this offseason. Flowers, who injured his knee last week against Denver, struggled mightily early in the season and concludes his season with 33 tackles, a sack and no interceptions after signing a 4 year, $36 million deal this offseason.
In corresponding moves, rookie defensive lineman Darius Philon was activated from the IR designated to return after suffering a hip injury earlier in the season and quarterback Brad Sorensen was promoted from the practice squad as Philip Rivers is reportedly suffering from flu-like symptoms but is expected to start on Sunday at Kansas City.
