Chargers-Patriots Game Recap: McConkey makes team history in 40-7 beatdown of New England

What a game to clinch a playoff berth for the Chargers.

Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey, and a host of other Bolts set new career highs — and even made some league history — in a 37-7 walloping of the Patriots on the road in Foxborough.

First up, the Chargers’ starting quarterback passed Peyton Manning (20,618) for the most passing yards by a player in their first five seasons.

Secondly, Ladd McConkey turned in an eight-catch, 94-yard, two touchdown performance that helped him break Keenan Allen’s team rookie records for both receptions (71) and receiving yards (1,046).
