This year, the Chargers are partnering with SoFi, the company whom which their new, shiny stadium is named for, to help assist underserved and under-represented individuals in the South Los Angeles area to help them in achieving financial independence through two different avenues in 2020 and beyond.
The new 20-year partnership, per the team’s recent press release, allows the team to focus much more on the community by “creating digital experiences and innovating grassroots programs that have a meaningful future impact to those most in need.” The team will be launching The Bolt Academy, which will be a “career training and leadership development program that will provide opportunities to work for the Chargers on game days at SoFi Stadium in 2021.
