The Jacksonville Jaguars, like the Padres, are just sort of there. They lose often. Their hopes ride on a youth movement finally paying off. Their No. 1 asset is a publicly funded, waterfront stadium like one Chargers ownership wants for its team.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan took over in 2012, same as the current Padres ownership headed by Ron Fowler and Peter Seidler.
Same results, too: losing seasons, no winners yet, but because the respective industries are cash-flush and cooperative, revenues pour in even as on-field defeats pile up.
