COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Derek Carr is not playing with the same swagger that had him in the league MVP conversation last season.
As a result, the Oakland Raiders have struggled this season because of his up-and-down play.
Carr has 12 interceptions on the season, including four in his past three games -- all Raiders losses. The 12 interceptions are twice as many as Carr had last season and one short of his career high of 13 in 2015.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Carr has thrown four touchdowns and six interceptions on passes that have traveled 20-plus yards downfield this season -- the most interceptions in the NFL this season on such plays.
