A history lesson was presented Monday at Chargers Park.
No better time for it.
All the team’s wide receivers sat in their position room, which is overseen by coach Nick Sirianni, and discussed the time Keenan Allen first came into his own. It was Week 2 of the 2013 season. Malcom Floyd suffered a season-ending neck injury in Philadelphia.
Two plays later, a rookie Allen caught his first career pass, a diving 18-yard grab over the middle that converted a third down.
Just like that, he was off.
“It’s someone’s opportunity,” wide receiver Tyrell Williams said.
