The San Diego Chargers will be in search of a safety in the offseason with Eric Weddle becoming a free agent. The team will allow Weddle to walk and will be looking for someone in the draft to pick up the slack at the position. One of the top safety prospects coming out is Boise State S Darian Thompson. The Chargers held a meeting with Thompson during Senior Bowl practice on Tuesday, according to Walter Football.
Thompson is the top rated free safety on a lot of boards and would likely be drafted in the 2nd round and could be a possibility with the Chargers 3rd round selection.
