SAN DIEGO – Coming off of a bye week the San Diego Chargers didn’t exactly play inspired football, losing for the sixth straight time this season, this one a 33-3 humbling at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs at Qualcomm Stadium.
With Philip Rivers under center more often and using tight end/fullback David Johnson, the Chargers committed to running the football early with Melvin Gordon, but had little success.
Gordon finished with 37 yards on 15 carries, with a long of 10 yards. The Charger tied a season-low 52 rushing yards.
The Chiefs held the Chargers to 201 total yards on offense, and held Rivers to a season-low 178 passing yards.
