The Chargers began the 2024 season playing exactly the type of football Jim Harbaugh wanted to play. They beat both the Raiders and Panthers with a productive run game and a stout defense. They controlled the clock and won both game by double-digits.
Then, over the last two outings where the team skidded to 2-2, the Chargers were without offensive tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt for 1.5 and one full game, respectively. The run game sunk to averaging less than 60 yards per outing after pushing close to 200 versus Las Vegas and Carolina.
Based on this context, one could either convince themselves that most of the blame lies on the backs or the offense line.
