Following the Chargers’ first training camp practice on Wednesday, head coach Jim Harbaugh fielded several questions regarding a pair of injured players in running back Gus Edwards and rookie linebacker Junior Colson. Both players are expected to be starters at their positions come the start of the regular season so it’s not surprising we all want to know what the latest updates are on their health.
According to Harbaugh, Colson suffered from appendicitis which meant he had to have his appendix removed immediately. It’s normally a two to four-week recovery time until someone can do normal daily activities following an appendectomy but doctors recommend upwards of six weeks before returning to any kind of strenuous activity.
