Early on Monday morning, the reports started rolling in that the Chargers have hired the third and final coordinator underneath new head coach Brandon Staley. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Broncos defensive backs coach Renaldo Hill will rejoin Staley on the west coast to be the team’s new defensive coordinator. The two spent the 2019 season together in Denver when Staley coached the team’s outside linebackers.
During Staley’s introductory press conference this past Thursday, he specifically named Broncos safety Justin Simmons as one of the elite defenders he’s gotten the chance to be around during his time in the NFL, so it’s no surprise that he showed interest in the man who helped develop Simmons into a 2019 Second-Team All-Pro.
